Ingredients for Bread Bhurji:

  1. 8 bread slices.
  2. 3 eggs.
  3. 1 onion chopped.
  4. 1 tomato chopped.
  5. Butter (optional).
  6. 1 tbsp oil.
  7. 1/4 tsp mustard seeds.
  8. 1 tsp red chilly powder.
  9. 1 tsp coriander powder.
  10. 1/4 tsp cumin powder.
  11. 1 pinch turmeric powder.
  12. Salt as required.

Step by step how to cook Bread Bhurji:

  1. Toast the bread slices with or without butter..
  2. Cut them into pieces.
  3. Heat a pan with oil. add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Add onion and sauté until it becomes glassy. Add tomato and sauté until it becomes soft and mushy..
  4. Add all spice powder (turmeric, coriander, cumin and red chilly powder) and salt. Sauté for few mins..
  5. Break and pour the eggs. Stir constantly and scramble the eggs..
  6. When it is almost cooked (80-90%), add toasted bread pieces. Stir it for few mins until it gets mixed well. By this time eggs will get completely cooked..
  7. Serve hot with tomato ketchup..
